We’ve always enjoyed this property and the recent renovation has made it even better. Super friendly and accommodating staff. Comfortable, clean room. The dining room is also a great spot for a meal or evening drink. The only thing I missed this time was the beautiful western mural on the wall near the elevators that was replaced with plain wallpaper!

Gorgeous room. Food in the restaurant was delicious. Our server (Asami) was very friendly and added to our experience nicely. So very disappointing to pay the gouging $50 parking fee that is (or has been) free at other hotels during a flight away from Calgary.

We had a short overnight here, because of an early morning flight, but we were so impressed upon walking into the lobby — spacious, modern, and huge dining area with a full bar and menu. Our room was very large, so large it felt like a sofa or another easy chair would be appropriate. I gather the hotel has been recently “refreshed” and it was a success. The hotel is about 10 minutes from the airport, there is plenty of parking, and, apparently an airport shuttle.

I stayed at this hotel before an early morning flight. I have not stayed in a Courtyard hotel in a while and I was very pleased. Very good value for the money. Quite basic, but the room was very clean, and the bed was super comfortable. Staff was efficient and seemed genuinely eager to be helpful. The only issue was that the hotel advertises itself as an “airport” hotel, with a complimentary airport shuttle. 1) The shuttle only runs every 75 minutes, so I was forced to arrive at airport an hour before I intended, and 2) although it is only a couple of km from hotel, it took us 15 minutes to get there. The hotel seems to be situated in a location where the airport is not easily accessible. If you have time to spare and are flexible on airport arrival time, then this hotel is a great option.

Kids and I met up with the wife in Calgary while she had work function to attend. First I want to touch on the pros. The exterior of the hotel ground well maintained. Check in staffs and hotel staffs were super friendly. The hotel itself is very beautiful, and very clean including the room and public areas. We were put in a renovated room which was nice, had a nice view of the golf course. Room also had tons of storage space. Housekeeping could have done a better job as we did find garbage at check in. However they have a very difficult job, so it wasn’t a big deal. The pool, barrel sauna, fitness faculty and laundry facility is on the 3rd floor shared with another hotel next door and the facilities looks modern and very clean. Also never long wait for the elevators, which requires key card to room level which we all know it’s a nice security measure. The following 2 incidents below especially incident 2 cost them a 5 star rating. 1. 1st night of our stay, received a “wake up” call with People running up and down the hallway at 3am, for the next hour there were some really loud commotions. Either the walls are paper thin, or we had troublesome citizens staying on the same floor. I have never encountered any of the above in any of my hotel stays. I have heard of people running up and down the halls in other hotels but nothing after midnight. *Tip* Do not stay on the 3rd floor east side, as it tends to have more foot traffic due to 3rd floor amenities. 2. This 2nd incident was the worst experience I’ve ever experienced in a hotel. I have stayed in hotels all over the world and never experienced anything like this before. After arriving from another city, and unpacking the kids wanted a quick bite. Since it was late got them take out fast food. I didn’t want to watch my kids eat in the room, as the room is stuffy, as my attached garage is way bigger than our hotel room. So we decided to eat in the lobby, which I have done many times in other hotels including other Marriott properties, in fact I just checked out of another higher category Marriott property the day I checked into this hotel. At this location we were told by 2 restaurants staffs we are not welcome to eat in the lobby as it’s part of the restaurant district 48. I thought it was odd as were we sat on the couches near the front desk, they were not tables nor dinning/bar chairs, also there was none of the following signs “no outside food or drink” “please wait to be seated” etc it’s an open concept so how does one know the restaurant “boundary”? I live in a fairly large open concept house and I use furnitures to divide up the rooms, which this hotel doesn’t. I asked where is the common area/lobby? I was told the entire “lobby” belongs to the “district 48”. So we can’t sit there? Not unless we order from the restaurant. It was late and I didn’t feel like eating. But we can sit in their patio, which doesn’t make sense as there’s signage on the exterior door that reads “district 48” which indicates the patio belongs to district 48. Maybe they think we were homeless so they can toss us out of the building which was a huge insult! I did plan on having breakfast, and dinner there the next day. But in a money driven result industry you think I did? Since they thought we were homeless, I assumed my money is chump change to them, so I gave up convince of having food/drinks on site, took my money elsewhere to support another establishments that does not discriminate! Bottom line is this hotel DOES NOT have a lobby? not WELCOME to sit there unless you order food or drink from district 48. I have NEVER stayed in a hotel where there’s no common area or “lobby” for guest to sit in. Is it the new norm? I don’t think so, as I have stayed in MANY hotels since Covid and has NEVER heard of this. The funny thing is the following day, like a normal hotel we saw a group of hotel guests with “outside” (TIM HORTONS) take out food eating and having a good time in the “lobby”. That’s when I realized in our case it was discrimination!!! Age? Race? Gender? Social? Who knows? Maybe they are a corporate hotel? But near the airport? What doesn’t make sense is My kids have stayed in higher categories Hyatt /Marriott properties and never been discriminated, in fact a couple of Hyatt and Marriott properties we stayed at in larger North American cities in the downtown core financial districts that caters mostly corporate clients surprisingly gave my kids welcome kid gift/packs at check in! Also those hotels and EVERY other hotels lets my kids eat their fast food take out in their LOBBY! You think a kid can wait for filet mignon when they are Hangry when they are travelling? Or they want their fast food right away??? Or sorry I didn’t wear my Tom Ford shirt in the lobby that evening instead I had a cheap sports shirt on from sport check maybe that’s why we weren’t welcome? Again who knows. However Funny thing was at check out, wife requested a printed copy of the receipt as it wasn’t initially provided, also we couldn’t check account info from the TV in the room. In addition to the room rates, there was a “restaurant charge” to our room dated the same date we got kicked out of the lobby. I know mistakes happens but what a coincidence???? A phantom F & B charge from district 48 the same evening the above incident occurred. I know it’s not the hotels fault but I do not believe it was an “error” Guess I was lucky, Never had issues with hotel bills prior to this, nor been kicked out of a hotel lobby while staying in a hotel. Guess there’s a first for everything, In my case it was a Quinella. However other than the 2 employees. The rest of the staffs at this property was Fantastic. Want to note the F & B charge was eventually removed from the final bill.
